Lesson 2: Conjugations

When learning any language, the most important thing to learn is how to make nouns plural, verbs past/future tense, and making adjectives negative.

I. Verbs
The form of the verb found in the dictionary is the present form of the verb. What if it has already happened?
The cat runs= fen mo pethalthir.
Dictionary form: always ends in "r"
Past form: remove final "r" and replace with "nyê"
The cat ran= fen mo pethalthinye
Future: Add prefix "vo" to dictionary form.
The cat will run= fen mo vo pethalthir

Now you can see how this works. With verb conjugation, a whole new door is opened, it is one of the most important skills.

II. Nouns
Make a noun plural. This is very simple.
Consonant ending noun: lävän (animal) Add "-êth"
EXCEPTION! If the noun ends with "th" change the letter before the "th" to an ê. If the noun already ends in "êth" then change the êth to "êsh". Stupid exceptions..
Vowel ending noun: fä (boy) Add -sh

III. Negative Adjectives
I can't stress how important Negative Adjectives are in Hanathlier. You must memorize only half of the adjectives, because the other half are negatives of the ones you memorize. If you want to say something is cold, you actually say "it is not hot." Now you see how important it is...?
Vowel ending Adjectives: pêthä (fast) Add an "n" to make into pêthän (slow).
Consonant ending Adjectives: lêv (soon) Add an "în" to make lêvîn (not soon)
